Anaheim, California: A Family-Friendly Destination
When you travel to Anaheim, CA, your car rental will come in handy as you travel from theme park to theme park. Once you've picked up your vehicle, venture into SoCal traffic and head to Anaheim, a city filled with family-friendly attractions.
Explore the Theme Parks
Theme parks are Anaheim's main claim to fame. The city is home to Disneyland Resort, and families often spend their entire vacation exploring Disneyland Park, Disneyland California Adventure Park, and Downtown Disney. For more theme park thrills, visitors can hop in their car rentals and drive 60 miles to Carlsbad where LEGOLAND is located. This amusement park boasts rides, a water park, and plenty of hands-on LEGO activities.
Bask in the Culture
While most visitors come for the theme parks, this SoCal city has plenty other things to offer. Check out the City National Grove of Anaheim, the local performance venue that offers nightly performances from musicians, comedians, podcasters, and more. For art, check out the MUZEO, an art museum located in downtown Anaheim. It’s about a 20-minute drive from the city's airport, making it a convenient attraction for adults who want to add a dose of culture to their vacation.
See Some Sports
Anaheim is home to the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Angels. The Ducks play hockey at the Honda Center while the Angels play ball in the aptly named Angel Stadium. Hockey fans may also want to visit Anaheim Ice, the Frank Gehry-designed ice rink complex where the Ducks train and local skaters practice. Located roughly 3 miles from the downtown area, this ice rink is a fun afternoon diversion for families.
