About the Newark Liberty Airport (EWR), New Jersey, United States

  • Newark Airport is Where Your NYC/NJ Trip Can Start

A visit to Newark puts you right in the heart of the tri-state area. You have all of New Jersey on one side and New York on the other, with its skyline rising above the Hudson River. Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is a great place to start your adventure. With a car rental, you can travel to the city, Long Island, the shore or out beyond the traffic.

    EWR Layout

When you land at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), you'll look for AirTrain signs as you exit your terminal. Once you're on board, it should only take a few minutes to get to the car rental stations, which are just past Terminal A. There are two stops to accommodate the different companies, so just look at the map in the AirTrain car to see whether you should get off at Station P3 or P2. The AirTrain is free for this portion of the ride.

    Getting Around the Area

Without any traffic, the ride into Manhattan is only 30 minutes from Newark. Of course, city traffic can change that, but the good news is that you have a few different ways of getting across the river. From south to north are the Holland Tunnel, Lincoln Tunnel and George Washington Bridge, all of which will help you get to the city.

If you want to go beyond NYC, having a car can give you a lot of flexibility. You can reach the beaches of Long Island, the sandy shores of Jersey or the Hudson Valley in a little over an hour.

As you're planning out your trip to Newark, remember that having a car rental gives you options in terms of when and where you travel. You can book your rental today.
