Founded in 1973 by Francisco Devesa, Centauro Rent a Car started with a modest fleet of six cars in Benidorm, a well-known tourist destination on the Mediterranean coast. Since then, the company has evolved significantly, continuously adapting to market changes and the habits of both national and international tourists. Today, the rental company is present in the main cities and airports of the Spanish Mediterranean coast, such as Alicante, Valencia, Benidorm and Málaga. Centauro has expanded its operations to major international markets, including Portugal, Italy and Greece.

With offices in key destinations such as Lisbon, Porto, Rome and Athens, the company offers a diverse and updated fleet, consisting of more than 40,000 cars, including economy cars, minivans, SUVs, hybrids, convertibles, and a wide variety of 7 and 9-seater cars.

In 2019, Centauro was acquired by Grupo Mutua Madrileña, further strengthening its position in the car rental sector and continuing its strategic expansion program.
